Rover SD1 Vitesse “Twin Plenum” on holiday in France

A few years ago you could bowl along at ninety or so on the motorway and still get overtaken by just about everything except artics and vintage H4 vans. Things are different now…

Once I was in France in the 1970s. We were minding our own business driving my lhd Beetle at about 50 mph when the sliding door from a Citroen van came off and spun through the air like a frisbee towards the windscreen. We swerved off the road and avoided it but since then I have never trusted anything made out of corrugated tin!

Even on holiday an SD1 needs to work for its living sometimes!
