Two projects under this heading, both TR7 related.

The first involves the use of a stepper motor designed for a car instrument display to make an individual fuel gauge which is as accurately calibrated as possible, looks like the other individual gauges, engine temp, oil pressure etc. and with a 270 degree sweep. This requires a microprocessor (Adafruit Trinket) and some simple electronics.

The second project involves the development of a cold start device for a Holly carb. The stepper motor uses a lead screw to produce a linear motion which controls the idle speed during warm up. The circuitry uses an Arduino and a Motor Drive Shield and takes account of engine temperature and ambient air temperature. (That’s the theory anyway!)
